INTERSPORT Australia is pleased to be expanding its reputation as a leading regional sports specialty retailer with the opening of the group’s newest store in Barossa, South Australia on Friday 25th October 2024.
Known as ‘The Heart of Sport’ in local communities, our Australian operation began in 2014 with 37 stores. That number has grown over the last ten years to 86 stores, with Barossa the latest store to open.
“Owned by the community, for the community, Barossa Co-op supported 80 local clubs and organisations with over $114,000 worth of sponsorship and donations in 2023 – 24 financial year. With sport playing such an important role in the community, we’re thrilled to be joining the INTERSPORT group, and providing our members and the region with exceptional international brands in a new state of the art store”, said Cathy Main, CEO Barossa Co-op.
INTERSPORT Barossa offers a full range of Nike, adidas, ASICS, and active wear brands including Lorna Jane. Customers and members will be able to purchase products online, or choose to click and collect, or come in and experience the ‘state of the art’ new store. The store will also offer ‘Safesize™’ Foot technology, where 3D shoe scanning technology captures inner 3D shoe dimensions, using a unique solution replicating the natural pressure of a foot in a shoe. The solution works with all types of footwear and guarantees highest fitting accuracy.
“Our team has worked hard over recent months to bring the store to life, so we are excited to finally unveil the new INTERSPORT brand to the local community. It seems fitting that INTERSPORT Barossa opens its doors in the same week as Barossa Co-op celebrates 80 years of community co-operation”, Cathy Main said.
